Creative Director of Dior Homme, Kris Van Assche, has invited Matt Keegan to create a permanent site-specific artwork for the store’s 57th Street location in New York. The freestanding sculpture, which stands approximately eight feet high, displays a wrap around text that reads, “How Do I Look?” Addressing both the context of a fashion boutique and the cognitive act of looking, the artist states, “It was a perfect question, a familiar phrase that becomes a play on a question asked in the retail space and also about the work itself.” Made of a mirrored stainless steel, the reflective surface, glass windows, and activity from the street, creates a kaleidoscopic experience for the viewer.
